This week the garden has moved forward from a design on paper to a design on the ground. All the sizes were scaled up and transferred over to enable us to see what will be coming and run any final checks, before cutting ground. The green curve represents the continual curve of beech hedging, and the red cross mark the centrepoints for the posts of the pergola.
Over their playtime the children took tremendous joy in running along the curved lines, which is a good indication of how they will interact with the garden when it becomes three dimensional.
Mike Brandon, of Brandon Landscaping Ltd, our main contractor for the project, stands with the trundlemetre and measuring tapes. You will see him out and about, with his team, over the next month.
